The RHS Fall Choir Concert was posted on Mr. Carrillo’s Youtube channel, Melchor Carrillo, on Friday, November 20 at 6:00 PM.

The Chamber Singers sang “Finale B” from Rent, and the Ranger Choir sang “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman.

“I was really pleased with how it turned out,” says Mr. Carrillo. He thinks that the “idea of being able to feature soloists at the beginning was really cool.”

He and John Meehan, the video/audio editor, worked hard to create a concert without being in person. Carrillo says he “thought the sound mixing was really good, and the overall video production was really good.”

“I was really happy with the reactions we got online from parents, former alum, and just community members,” says Carrillo regarding the feedback he gained after the concert was posted. “My wife’s cousin posted it in Florida,” and even she gained a lot of positive reactions.

Although he thought the concert was an overall success, Carrillo believes “the things I can improve are more administrative.” For example, “how we get things turned in.”

For the second Virtual Choir Concert, Carrillo thinks he did “a little better the second time with stressing what our perimeters were.” Although it is still unofficial, he is “hoping it will be out this Friday.”

“Every class has a song and video that we are going to feature,” says Carrillo. Beginning Women’s Choir, Advanced Women’s Choir, Men’s Chorus, and Chamber Singers are all performing one song, and the Ranger Choir will be performing two songs.

Mr. Carrillo was really pleased with how the Fall Choir Concert came out. Although there were a few tweaks that could’ve been made here and there, he was happy with the outcome, and he remains excited for the Winter Choir Concert.
