As the 23-24 school year begins, fall sports are taking action. This year’s class of ‘27 is eager to see what Redwood athletics are all about.

As women’s water polo begins, freshman Lillian Iverson takes on her first season as a starting member of varsity.

Being the only freshman on varsity, Iverson says, “I’m really proud of myself for the accomplishment.”

She adds, “ All of the girls are awesome and so fun to learn from and hang out with. They’re all very sweet and I quickly made friends.”

Iverson has only been playing for two years, but she has done a lot to prepare for this upcoming season.

She says, “I played in local tournaments and I even went to the Junior Olympics with my club team this summer.”

Going to the Junior Olympics has helped Iverson learn and improve a huge amount.

Iverson says, “I really enjoy the Redwood community.”

She says, “When I first started going to the summer polo practices, I was taken in with open arms and it made me feel more confident in what I’m doing.”

As the season has officially taken off, Iverson finishes by saying, “The thing I’m most excited about is to get to know new people and to also get more game time experience.”
