This year’s lifetime members learn from what they do, and from the amount of work they put into achieving lifetime membership. Many people considering lifetime member to be “Just a Title.”
But the students within the program know it is much more. Carson Henry, ’20, noted “It definitely helps with your work ethic” and elaborates by saying “I would not have tried as hard without CSF.” Carson also says that CSF emphasizes consistency within one’s work ethic, “Because it requires you to keep up your grades the whole time.”
Though Brianna Stevens, ’20, doesn’t see it the same way. She seems to see it as less of a motivation and more of a recognition for already great work, Stevens saying “I already had good grades and this is more of a recognition.”
However it did help her, even though it wasn’t hard, it still pushed her not to slack off. “It benefited me because it pushed me to keep my grades up”
Stevens also notes that her situation isn’t always like hers, saying “It wasn’t hard for me because I always had good grades and this is more of a recognition, but it could be hard for some people.” Looking at the General effect of CSF on its participants, it appears to be a test of a work ethic.
