On Friday, October 19, Redwood has a must win game at El Diamante. This is due to the fact that if Redwood loses, and Hanford wins, your Rangers will be 2 games back on Hanford in the WYL, which would unfortunately, eliminate Redwood from WYL contention. Therefore, this game is almost as important as Cowhide.
First, we must take a look at the two teams, and their average points scored. First, for El D. They score, on average, 13.5 points per game. However, Redwood has scored, on average, 21.25 points per game. So, I would LOVE to tell you that Redwood will win this game, 21-14. However, I have no choice, but to tell you something that I LOATHE. This isn’t the final piece of the puzzle. In fact there’s another piece that I must tell you about: how good the defenses are.
First, we will start with El D. They allow, on average, 32 points per game. Redwood, however, allows 30 points per game. Now, if we take those two solutions, and take the difference of the two, first, with El D’s defense vs. Redwood’s offense. The average would come to 27 points. Now it’s time to take Redwood’s defense against El D’s offense. The average would be 22 points. So, in theory, Redwood should win this game by the final score of 27-22. All of this was made possible by my shaky mathematic reasoning. Until next time!
