Redwood High school’s Link Crew hosts a haunted house every year on campus to get students excited for Halloween.

The Redwood Link Crew hosted their annual haunted house on October 22, 2026, the event featured unsuspecting jump scares and a new location in the girl’s locker room. What was the purpose for changing the location, and how fun was the experience?
The location of the haunted house was changed to the girls locker room because there were issues with the air conditioning in the academic building, where the event normally takes place. Moving the location to the girls locker room allowed the actors and customers to stay comfortable with the temperature during the haunted house.
Despite the change of location, the event was a hit for a multitude of reasons.
The experience came at a cost of $2 per person, which I’d say was well worth it.
The name “Into the Unknown” fit the experience well, as every corner you turned, left you anticipating what was to come next. The dark atmosphere allowed actors to creep up behind and scare you, moving you further away from the exit, and deeper into the haunted house.
Student actors were dressed in costumes from killer clowns, to nurses covered in blood. I vividly remember at the start of the haunted house, there was a cardboard box that was disguised as some sort of pillar.

As you’d walk by the pillar, an actor hidden inside the box would shoot their hand out through a hole in the box, and grab you.
Following that, the next corner you turned presented you face to face with another actor, dressed up and ready to make you scream.
As you went deeper into the haunted house, the actor’s ideas of scaring the audience got even more creative.
In one specific part of the haunted house, masked actors sat on the tops of lockers, making as much noise as possible, whether that be screaming, or banging on the lockers.
This was by far my favorite part of the haunted house because not only did they fill the room with petrifying screams, but they’d also lunge out at you to scare you.
Once you reached the end of the haunted house, you were greeted with tables full of candy, and a halloween movie being played in the gym.
Overall I really enjoyed the experience, and was very impressed with the actors’ performances. Myself and others, are eager to see what’s in store for next year’s haunted house.
