Redwood Varsity football faces the El Diamante Miners on Friday, October 25th at 7:30PM at the Mineral King Bowl for the annual Blackout game. These two teams have a history of rivalry between the two schools. Student sections and actions will be at a high. Both teams have had a struggle of a season.
Redwood has a season record of 2-6, while El Diamante has a season record of 1-7. Tonight’s win will carry bragging rights.
Defensive End #51 Cristian Moreno, ’25, says, “I feel excited, and I feel pumped that we are going to win. I feel good, we are going to do good this game no doubt. We’re going to crap on them and just do our thing.”
Even with the Rangers season so far, they feel no threat from El Diamante.
Defensive Tackle #90 Raul Larios, ’25, says, “I feel great I think that we are a way better school than El D for sure. Even though we’ve been having a hard season we are a much more talented team than them.”
Outside Linebacker and Punter #10 Brody Preisendorf, ’24, says “I think we are looking great. Coming off from a loss from last week we’ve watched a lot of film and are ready for El D.”
However, the Rangers stay humble. Looking for a win with class. Preisendorf says, “I think we need to stay strong, focus, and stay humble from this game. They are a good team, and [we] just need to be ready for them, but I think we are really looking forward to this game.”
Larios says, “No doubt we are going to destroy them. I feel confident that our defense will stop them in every drive.”
