School has started, which means that water polo season is just around the corner.
Hannah Kempf, ’23, says, “I’ve been preparing for this season all summer. I did club and high school practices, which meant driving to Fresno most nights and practice 2-3 hours, then practice 2 hours in the morning for Redwood.” .
Kempf says” [The team} has a pretty good team dynamic. Everyone treats each other how they would want to be treated.”
When asked about the change of leagues this year, Kempf says, “This year we’re in EYL, and it’s going to be totally different, these are teams we have never played before.”
Emelia Rasner, ’25, says, “From the start of June to the end of July, I was invited to train with the Fresno State Club team, which was every morning of the week, followed by club polo in the afternoon.”
Rasner says, “The chemistry of our team is amazing. Most of the people on varsity have played last year as well, so we are all familiar with each other.”
Rasner feels confident. “I think we will be pretty successful this season and hopefully go far!”
