On Wednesday, September 14th, Girls Soccer Held an informational meeting at lunch in Mr. Viera’s Room. After a great season last year, they are looking to have the same success this year. Last year, the girls had a 17-0-2 undefeated season.
Returning Varsity Member Addi Beal 25′ says, “I think we have a really good team this year, we will probably win East Yosemite League (EYL) this year.” Beal 25′ is a forward who has been playing soccer for 6 years, she was really looking forward to the meeting to see new faces.
Girls Soccer has been hosting practices and camps over the summer. Sawyer Espinoza 25′ says, “There were some IV camps in July and we had indoor practice during the summer.” Espinoza is an all-around player but her main position is Midfield, she has been playing soccer for 11 years.
When asked about the meeting, another returning varsity member Jayme Gomez 25′ says, “It was good, I loved seeing everyone and I liked seeing new faces. Gomez 25′ is a forward who looks to make a big impact on the year.
Paityn Bruce 24′ is out for this year with an injury. However, she says “We have a really good team, and I am really excited to support my team this year.” Bruce also showed up to the meeting and said, “It was really fun, I missed seeing my teammates and I loved the new faces.”
