For many of the community service clubs at redwood, there are some big events coming up that students can get involved in, for Saving our community, CSF, Justserve, and Asisteens clubs on redwood campus here’s what’s next for them.
Sami Castillo, ‘26, president of saving our community club, said, ”this year, we are going to Rocky Hill and cleaning up trash. We’re going to read to kindergartners. There are many things still in the works.”
Students can get involved with saving our community through Instagram. The club is really active and they post a lot about upcoming events for their club. They have club meetings every other week, students can get involved by coming to the meetings or the events.
Castillo said, if you aren’t in the club, they hope that you’re involved and that people will see what our club is doing, and hopefully be inspired to also help save the community.
CSF, the California Scholarship fund, and its members have big events every year for students to come get involved in, its a community service based club that focuses on giving back to the community and its members, helping students with community service and scholarships for college.
Elle Pinheiro, ‘26, president of CSF said, “our biggest event that’s coming up is our Trunk or Treat, which is October 27th, and it’s an event where we invite all elementary school kids, and younger to the Redwood Campus to host a little fun trunk or treat event.”
The event had redwood students come together and decorate the trunks of their cars in specific themes, and it invites the kids to come and do some pre-trick or treating. There are many people in attendance each year and many students who volunteer with the event as well.
Another event coming up with CSF, is the reading to kindergartners at Highland Elementary school on November 7th, members of the club are mostly involved, but the trunk or treat is available for other students to volunteer and participate.

Oblad said “ its meant to be a fun time hanging out and giving back to the community”
Pinherio, also the president of Assisteens said, “It’s for anyone who is interested in community service around the community.”
Asisteens has community service events coming up, they are making succulent pumpkins with the residents of Quo Park Shannon Ranch, it’s a fun craft to engage and bond with the residents.
Pinheiro, when asked about how to get involved with Asisteens said, ”Asisteens is welcome to anyone who is interested in doing service events, and giving back, we welcome any and all.”
The clubs hope for their upcoming events, Pinheiro said, “It’s always nice to see a bunch of students who are willing to participate and are enthusiastic about giving back to their community.”
Pinheiro says, “It’s super rewarding, and you definitely won’t regret it, it’s a great way to stay involved.”
