The first person we interviewed was Alexis Seals, ’27, and we asked her what FBLA is. “FBLA is one of the biggest organizations that we have on this campus. It stands for Future Business Leaders of America.”
Sehrish Hirani, ’27, the FBLA president, discusses one of her personal goals for this organization. “I placed at the state level; the state level in California is hard to place. I placed second in a community service project at that level, which was a big goal of mine.

She then adds, “My team and I worked diligently throughout the year to create a project that would benefit our members and also help us place at the state level.’ And we did that.”
Seals adds on and says, “What we do is we go and compete in different business competitions. We compete at the section, state, and national levels. It’s really fun and I encourage everybody to get involved in it.”
FBLA is an important organization in our school; they participate in community service and compete in various events.

Mr. Jacob Avila, FBLA’s advisor, says, “Students learn leadership skills, they learn about business and careers. They compete in competitions all over the state and nation.”
Avila then adds on and says, “We do community service, business tours, socials. It’s a very interactive group on campus.”
FBLA is an engaging group on campus that offers service projects, networking, and social events.
FBLA also prepares students for college and career so that they can develop valuable skills.
“From the time they’re fresh into the time they’re seniors, they’re ready for life.” Avila
When asked about what they do for meetings, Hirani said, “We have pizza at the meetings, and we host it in the gym, because we do get a lot of members, because it’s right after club day. We just talked about a lot of our different events that are going on. We mainly bring that up in our first few meetings.”
Avila added on and says, “Coming up on October 9th, we do have a very important meeting for competition specifically.”
Seals also added, “This important meeting is basically a conference we have that’s basically just a lot of workshops, and you get to learn more about what FBLA is.”
