Redwood baseball is starting off their season strong, with a record of 2-0. Even though it is just the beginning of league, the team is determined to make it far and to win WYL. A strong team can be intimidating, especially for upcoming freshman.

Estevan Hernandez, ’25, starts off by saying, “Being a part of the baseball team feels really great. Going out every day and getting to work on our teams bond is the best part.” He follows up by saying, “The thing we need to work on is just lifting each other up, which can make us a lot better.”

Vincent Barba, ’25 follows up Hernandez by saying, ” The Redwood team is a really good organization, and I’m really glad to be a part of it.” Barba agrees with Hernandez, “The team has a strong bond. We’ve definitely come a long way since the start of the first semester.” He goes on to say, “My personal goal is just being able to win WYL. That’s a pretty big deal for us.”

C.J Ramos, ’25, says, “We’re starting out pretty strong, and our team has a really good bond.” Ramos agrees with Barba in saying, “Our biggest goal is to win the championship. That would be really amazing.” Kellen Anderson, ’25, says, “Being a part of the team is really fun, and its been a great experience.” Anderson also talks about the challenges of being a freshman on the team as well. He says, “It’s hard [because] everyone kind of looks down on us, so we have to really prove ourselves.”

Spencer Schimelpfening, ’25, says, “It feels great to be a part of the team. We just have to really work together.” He goes on to say, “At the beginning, our bond wasn’t the greatest, but its definitely improved a lot since then now that we’ve gotten to know each other.” Schimelpfening agrees with the other freshmen players, “The biggest downside is probably the field.” They all agree that they will work with what they have got.

Eric Rico, ’25, follows up Schimelpfening by saying, “The team has done pretty well so far. Our bond has improved and we’re working towards winning WYL.” Rico goes on to say, “I’m really looking forward to improving with the team, and we’ll try to stay consistent with our wins this season.”

This years freshmen and JV team is ready for this season! Lets go Rangers!
