Here’s the Five For Friday, bringing you five songs you should add to your playlist. This week’s songs are for your morning get up for school brought to you by the Clubs & Lifestyles section.
Donya Hassanshahi ‘25 hates getting up in the mornings and is not at all a morning person. It takes her about 30 to 40 minutes to get up and get ready for school. During this one her favorite song to put on it ‘Void’ by The Neighborhood.
“I’m really infatuated with the beats and the song and I think it's such a mellow but creative vibe to get ready to. So I really enjoy just jamming out in the morning but having that cool down tone that I don’t have to like, bust down to the song right now.”
Oscar Castaneda '23 is a morning person and he gets up really early to go to the gym and to come back and shower. He usually takes 20 minutes to get fully ready for school. His favorite song to get ready is ‘Shot For Me’ by Drake.
“It makes me feel like him, like I’m him. Like you’ll never have someone like me type beat.”
Bella Aldridge ‘23 is also not a morning person, even taking an hour to get up and 30 minutes to get ready. Her favorite song to get ready for school is ‘exile' by Taylor swift.
“I was introduced to this song a couple months ago and I have always just loved it. I’m the type that when I hear a new song it automatically becomes my favorite but that one has just stayed the top favorite for a long time now.”
Ayla Barton ‘25 loves the mornings and usually is able to get up within 5 minutes. She is able to get fully ready in 45 minutes and her favorite song to listen to during this process is ‘Cover Me Up’ by Morgan Wallen.
“It's just one of those songs that just gets stuck in your head y’know, and you can’t stop thinking about it. I also really like the beat in it and I love how he sings in it. But only in like certain parts of the song though.”
Isabel Barycki ‘26 is not a morning person taking 5 to 10 minutes to get up and around 45 minutes to get ready. When getting ready she likes to listen to more upbeat and positive music. Her favorite song however is ‘Brazil’ by Declan McKenna.
“It makes me feel happy. It reminds me of like, the weekend just like having fun and yeah. I really like the beat and stuff.”
