Sienna Doyle, ‘25, was nominated by the Key Club with it being her first year joining. Doyle hoped to be nominated but wasn’t sure if she would be.

“I had high hopes, I thought I would. I tried to run for the Class of 25 thing, didn’t get that so I found the Key Club. I thought it was pretty cool so I joined and they nominated me. Which was super sweet, thank you guys.”

Doyle says that she was surprised about how involved she would be, participating in the Homecoming Rally, as well as being in the Quad Games during lunch.

She has been enjoying all of the rallies and quad games that have been set for the nominees.

“I have always been intimidated by the quad games, but it’s actually super fun.”

She mentions playing Battleship with water balloons and actually winning without getting hit by a single one.

Doyle’s favorite song is ‘Kiss Me’ by Sixpence None The Richer

“I just really like the song.”

Gwen Miller
Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please (Official Video)

Gwyneth Miller, ‘25, was nominated by Dance Force, having been involved in it for all four years of high school. She didn’t think she would be nominated since it was between her and another member.

“She got nominated for Ag, so I got nominated for this.”

Miller has loved the involvement of being nominated, as well as how involved the school and its students become.

“It's been really fun. I love dressing up, I love performing at the rallies. I think it’s so fun. I love just seeing everyone express so much school spirit.”

She has also really loved participating in the Quad games at lunch, the water balloon fight being one of the highlights of the week.

“The rally was really fun, I thought that our dance went well and the activities at lunch have been fun as well.”

Miller says that her favorite song is ‘Please Please Please’ by Sabrina Carpenter.

“I like Sabrina Carpenter because she’s really preppy, she has a lot of really good rhythm.”

Jayme Gomez, ‘25, was nominated by the Girls Soccer, she's been playing for Redwoods Soccer team for the last four years. Gomez was caught by surprise when she was nominated as she didn't think she'd get picked to represent the team.

“I was kinda surprised”

Gomez enjoyed the rally and all it had to offer, she says, “I thought it was pretty cool, I liked the whole set up of it and the whole theme.”

She also found the games in the quad really fun, with Gomez really enjoying the water balloon fight especially.

“It was pretty fun, yesterday was fun especially at the end we had a water balloon fight.” And as for Gomez’s favorite song it's ‘20 Something’ by Sza.

Kaylene Garza, ‘25, was nominated by CSF, she's been in the club since her freshman year, but just became an officer in the club last year. Garza wasn't expecting to get nominated at all, so she was quite surprised when she was chosen.

“I genuinely had no idea, so it was like a shock when they called my name.”

The rally was enjoyable for Garza, she says, “ I think the rally was super fun, like it got everybody on their toes, like anticipating who was gonna get called and everything.”

And like most, Garza also agrees that the lunch time activities in the quad were super fun.

“The lunch time activities are super fun, it's a great way to get involved and show your school spirit or like the spirit surrounding homecoming.” Garza’s current favorite song is ‘Pipe Down’ by Drake

Lastly, Madisyn Hamilton, ‘25, was nominated by Girls Golf being in it since her Freshman year of highschool. She hoped to be nominated but wasn’t sure if she would be.

“I was hoping I would be nominated, I kinda thought I had a chance but I didn’t think I would make it to top five.”

Just like the others, Hamilton has loved participating in all of the extra activities while being one of the nominees.

“It’s been so fun, it’s actually one of the highlights of being at Redwood. Everyone is super nice and I like how involved I’ve been.”

She also really loved how the rally was set up.

“I thought the rally was really good. It was so well thought out and all the little details like the names. I liked Dance Force too and thought the red carpet was a cute little detail.”

Hamilton’s favorite song is ‘Love Me’ by Lil Wayne featuring Drake and Future.

“I like the beat. I'm really big on beats in songs and it’s just very up beat.”
