Every year FBLA organizes a community service project to support Tulare County.
This year they chose to have a sock drive for the homeless population of Tulare County.
Gabriel Atienza, ‘25, Vice President of Community Service, says, “From my experience in volunteering for homeless organizations, I have seen the necessity of warm socks during these cold winter months which is why our chapter is hosting this.”
With the weather still staying chilly and seeming to never end they extended the date to focus on their Central Section Leadership Conference which is Saturday, February 8th, in at Pitman High School in Turlock.
Atienza adds, “With the extended deadline, we were able to delegate more time for our competitions now and then hone in our focus on our community service afterward.”
This extension allowed FBLA to focus on one thing at a time and come back stronger with more donations after the extension.
FBLA also decided to partner with Athletes Give Back. Which is a “club at Redwood focused on giving back to the community, which combines our donations to create a greater overall impact,” says Atienza.
