Evan Dalida, a senior at Redwood High School, is going to go to Fresno State and study music.
About his plans he says, “I’m gonna major in music education. I really enjoy my time in orchestra in high school and I want to continue on with music.”
From childhood the love of music was instilled by his parents, Dalida says, “My family put me in music lessons, they pushed me to keep going, otherwise I probably would’ve given up a long time ago.”
Dalida’s main inspiration is also his family and music teachers, he says, “It was mainly my parents and my teachers. Without their support I don’t think I would enjoy music half as much as I do right now.”
The music teacher, Mr Yokota, played an important role in Evan’s decision. Dalida says, “My music teacher inspired me to make this decision and he’s a good example. He made music look really fun.”
After graduating from college Dalida has different career options. He says, “I’m thinking about possibly becoming a music teacher.”
