Model United Nations (MUN) is an organization that allows students to learn more and create solutions for problems around the world. Hundreds of students participate in competitions around the U.S. every year, going up against schools from primary to university.
This is MUNs first year at Redwood and is advised by Mr. Ross Eskridge. They had their first meeting this Thursday where they discussed their goals and plans for the rest of the year and the following one.
Wen He, ‘26 says “I was motivated to bring Model United Nations to Redwood because there weren’t many options for debate that talk about modern issues, especially with the time we’re in and there are many problems to talk about.”
They met in room 33 during lunch for the first meeting of the year, and new members got to know each other.
Emma Prouty, ‘28, says, “Model UN really helps with college applications. It is a great community to be a part of, and it builds character. It gives people the opportunity to try something they’ve never done before and work with different people.”
Many of today’s leaders in, business, law, art, and the United Nations have been a part of MUN, which allows students to build important leadership skills.
MUN provides students with the opportunity to better their education and learn more about worldwide issues.
Rei Zeng, ‘28, says, “It’s a really good club to build leadership skills and it helps people learn about the different ideologies of foreign countries.”
