Last Tuesday, April 30th the boys golf team competed for a chance to play in the Central Section valley Championship and one came out on top. Tyler deAsis, ’19 was the only one out of the top six that qualified.

The golfer qualified for Valley by shooting a score of 79 and also stated that his game that day started off rough, he couldn’t really get his mind straight but by the end, he was able to pull it all together. He went into the match not feeling much pressure and said that “this year in WYL, it is sad to say, but there is not really much competition so I kind of knew what the standings were gonna be.”

But the team didn’t play so well. The boys had some high strokes on easy holes. But deAsis feels that “everyone knows where they lost their strokes from but we have gotten better as a team this season overall.” The team came up just a bit shot to qualify in the end by 10 strokes. deAsis personally did not feel much pressure for the purpose of competing before but was against a team who hadn’t really played in the past.

Logan Parsley, ’21, feels that Tyler’s game will be spot on while competing in valley and play a strong game. The boys have all put their hearts into every game and play hard each match. Don’t forget to keep cheering them all on!
