Recently, Redwood’s California Scholarship Federation (CSF) has elected their new board this August to prepare for the year.

Every year, the new board must come up with plans to evaluate and uphold the club. President, Kaylene Garza, ‘25, says, “I think it’s super important for kids to come to get more involved so we wanna focus on a lot of service projects this year.“

Vice President, Karli Rasmussen, ‘25, says they also plan on having workshops to help people apply for the club.

Throughout the school year, many different services are held.

“We have the clothing drive in September. It’s [inside] the student store, in the thrift store,” says Garza.

The clothing drive is something any Ranger can take part in and it’s a nice way for them to donate old clothes they don’t use.

Rasmussen says, ”In October we have a Trunk-Or-Treat for little kids, so you can come [and] decorate your car.”

This event is held in the Redwood student parking lot and the club brainstorms themes for each car which kids can “Trunk-Or-Treat.”

Within every club, communication is key. Garza says the club excelled in communication last school year and wishes to build more on that this year.

When asked what challenges the club faced last year and how they plan to prevent them now, Garza says, “At the end of the year it kind of gets like, it just gets really hot and busy, so we kind of want to focus more on having service projects at the end of the year.”

With these plans, CSF is ready and motivated to take on the ’24-’25 school year.

Rasmussen says, “CSF is a great club to get involved with.”
