New Redwood Staff, Coach Stiff talks about his experience about transferring from Green Acres to Redwood as a campus supervisor.
By: Richard Duran
Coach Stiff talks about how his transfer was at first and what his experience was for him as a fresh addition to Redwood staff.
Coach Stiff says, “The transfer was easy, It’s been good coming on campus where I already know so many people already. I’ve been working at Green Acres for about ten years, so even seniors, I still know a lot of them. So when I showed up on that first Tuesday, there was news about me being here spread pretty fast, so it seemed like everyone was happy that I was here.”
Coach stiff also gives a bit of his reasoning for his transfer.
Stiff says, “It was an opportunity that doesn’t come on very often. You don’t see these jobs at Redwood, pop up on Edge, which is where you look for open jobs. And my son is here now, so it’d be nice for me to be here while he’s here.”
Coach Stiff gives some information on his coaching history. He says, “I did 7th grade football for the last years, I’ve done basketball, 8th graded basketball. Since I got there, [Green acres] it’s been about 10 years, and I’ve been doing track, the discus and shot put for the past three years.”
He also has a message to all the students that don’t know him just yet.
Coach Stiff says, “I would hope that they ask the other kids to learn from the ones who do know me, that I’m extremely fair. I try to treat everyone with respect and kindness, and hope that I can be like that to everyone here. That they can be like that to everyone else and make this place just a little bit better each day.”
