Wednesday was Club Day on campus, and like previous years, there were a lot of different clubs you could sign up for. One of the many great clubs that were presented there was French Club, a cultural club that focuses on the French culture and language, and is all about having fun with each other.

“French Club is a fun club that gives you a great opportunity to learn more about the French culture, to refine your French and to surround yourself with people that have mutual interests and become friends,” says Samantha Harvell, ’21. Samantha Harvell is the president of this cultural club. She was secretary of the club last year. “My role as president of the French club is to make plans for the club, hold it together, help the club advisor Madame Newman run meetings and raise awareness for the club in order to bring in new members,” she mentioned. They have meetings every week on Tuesday in Room 47 in the Academic building, and have a big diversity in the club member grades, with a majority of freshmen and juniors.

As part of her role, Samantha plans a mostly annual trip to a French restaurant in Fresno and makes sure the club is part of the Homecoming Parade of Redwood High School. They are also planning a homecoming quotes, going to icebreakers with the club and several socials.

French club has a lot of great plans for this year, and is an amazing club to join. It contributes to Redwood High School with their interest and practice for French, and makes sure there is a good place for students with the same interests to come together and have a good time with each other.
