Have you ever been on a blind date? What about a blind date with a book? Mrs. Adalian discovered that a very small percentage of students checking out books at our library. To try and solve this issue, books have been wrapped and displayed in the library. They will remain there for two weeks, in hopes of sparking a curiosity for students to read for fun.
Mrs. Adalian’s goal is to increase the circulation of books read in our library. She was inspired by the library at COS to do a blind date with a book event. By doing this COS experienced a 20% gain in books being checked out. Mrs. Adalian hopes to have a similar result.
The library does not have has many students go in there eager to read a book for fun. “This is to try to develop a little excitement in there so we will have more readers on campus.” says Mrs. Adalian.
