The sequel to Marvel’s Black Panther is titled “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” which comes to theaters November 11, 2022. It highlights the aftermath in Wakanda after the King’s death. Members must protect their nation from threats and come together as one to make way for a new chapter in their community.

Redwood Rangers were asked their expectations for the coming film.

Jacob Coburn ‘24 says “It’s sad that the old actor passed but I’m excited to see how the new actor does.”

Coburn expressed that he thinks the first movie will always be the better of the two, but he is still excited for the new film’s turnout.

Carlos Ramos ‘25 is not a Marvel fan in particular, but still plans on watching the Black Panther sequel. He says, “It’s a new movie coming out, and it is always fun to watch a new movie with friends.”

When asked his expectations for the new film, Ramos said “As soon as they make a spin-off of the main character, no movie will ever be the same.”

Student Juan Herrera -Silva ‘23 also expressed their excitement about the coming movie. They stated, “I really liked the first movie but with the second one, I’m excited to see how it turns out now that the original actor isn’t gonna be in any more of the movies.”

Herrera-Silva also stated, “I expect it to be just as good as the other, if not more, because the same producers will be there. “

“Wakanda Forever” said Hererra-Silva

Mr.Cain, a teacher on campus, is also excited for the new Black Panther movie. He thinks it will be exciting to see more powerful women, as well as more powerful people, of different nationalities involved.

“We can see heros in all people.” said Cain

As for his expectations for the upcoming film, Mr Cain expressed his curiosity about vibranium, a liquid metal referred to in Marvel films, and believes that in some way it ties to the real world.

“We’ve had numerous fights over oil and other resources and it feels like they’re really tying into that kind of idea that there are precious resources. Who keeps them and who doesn’t?”

When asked about the role of Black Panther Mr. Cain said, “I don’t know who it’s going to be but I imagine they’ll probably have a female and now we can have this really powerful minority female being the Black Panther. I think everyone’s done with the whole princess thing.”
