On September 15, 2023, indie folk rock artist Mitski released her album ‘The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We’. The album is described by Mitski as her, “most American album,” discussing themes about the unavoidable destruction and difficulty of love. Love for the world, the self, or others. The 32-minute alternative indie album is filled with emotion through lyrical and melodic methods it sinks listeners into various, meaningful emotions.
