When you think of art the first thing that comes to mind is drawing and painting but what about music? Music shows emotions just like a painting can.

Evan Dalida ‘23 says, “ To me music is a passion and my inspiration is just the challenge to get better and improve my skills.”

To most, music is a passion. They take it as a way to express their emotions and even to just have fun and express themselves.

Dalida adds , “Through a song you can definitely feel the emotions they are trying to show without actually seeing anything. All you have to do is listen. That’s why music has genres. Pop music is exciting and you can just feel all the upbeat coming from it. Although we can’t see it we can all feel it coming from the way they make the music sound.”

Dalida thinks some people under appreciate the violin. Dalida adds that “Sometimes you forget how amazing just a violin sounds. It’s one instrument and many times no lyrics but just the violin alone you can hear the lyrics that aren’t actually there. Inspiration can come from all places. It can be from friends and family to maybe even just something you see everyday.

We all listen to music whatever the reason may be. For entertainment or maybe just to have something to do while studying. No matter the genre of the music we listen to.

“I’ve always had an interest in music my whole life but being in an orchestra is a good way to involve music into my school day.” Dalida enjoys playing the violin. He wants to have something he loves involved in his everyday schedule.

Although it’s not always easy you power through and face the challenges because it’s all one can do.

Dalida says, “I’ve played many songs where I felt like I wasn’t good enough but you just have to keep going and it’s really challenging but it’s also rewarding knowing you can conquer all these challenges.”

Dalida adds, “I’ve been playing violin since 5th grade.” Dalida started playing the violin at a young age because he’s always had the passion to do something with music.

Being a part of a community is nice and it makes you feel like you’re in a family and they all understand you. Dalida says, “Music is a thing that a lot of people love so it’s nice to be a part of that community.”
