With Cowhide being today, seniors will experience their last Cowhide. After four years of preparing different halftime shows and performing them with the Maroon school, the journey comes to an end.

This year, the band is playing “Jolene” and “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton for the halftime show.

“I like the songs that we’re playing this year because it’s a nice tribute to Dolly Parton,” said Andrew Smith ‘27

Being a senior can be hard, especially after being surrounded by the same group of people for 4 years, and even longer if you knew them in middle school.

Evan Isaacs ‘27 said, “I remember going back 4 years ago to my 1st Cowhide. It was such an amazing experience, and now I’m reliving the moment; it just feels so sentimental.”

These seniors have been waiting for the moment that they become seniors since their freshmen year, they seen all of the other seniors before them graduate and experience their last Cowhide, and now it’s their turn.

“My best Cowhide experience was my freshman year, because I think the show was really fun, and everyone had a lot of good energy,” said Lauren Rojas ‘27

Being a senior can be bittersweet, but after being surrounded by the same people you were in your freshman year, you can make more memories and end the final football game right.

When asked how conducting Cowhide will feel, Aaron Deisman ’27 said, “It will feel fun trying to hype and encourage the band as well as all the people in the stands to cheer for Redwood to keep the hide home.”
