This 2026 Cowhide at Mineral King Bowl color guard will be performing a combined performance with Mount Whitney, tying all seventy-one years of tradition into one big half-time show.

In preparation for Cowhide, Mount Whitney has sent materials showing what Redwood’s color guard will be performing for halftime. Color guard has been practicing for their show the past few days, hoping to spread spirit for the Cowhide game.

Mr. Ray says, “The color guard will actually receive the video from Mount Whitney, so Mount Whitney is home, so they do all the planning, so they are in charge of all the music and everything for halftime.”

The songs that will be featured in the performance are “Jolene” and “9 to 5”, popular songs by a country artist, Dolly Parton. You may recognize their melodies and iconic lyrics, influencing a country vibe this halftime show.

This year’s music selection honors Dolly Parton, celebrating her influence on country music through her two iconic songs.

Dolly Parton’s songs have given the performers something to look forward to this Friday.

Alexis Diaz Delon said, “I’m kinda excited cause it’s like Dolly Parton songs; it will be fun.”

The Redwood color guard hopes to spread their spirit by cheering on the football team and spreading Ranger joy throughout the stadium, connecting both schools through music and choreography this Friday.
