Mrs. Bardonnexx and Mrs. Lapp share what to expect from this 2027 Redwood dance, “On Air.”
Over taking the stage this upcoming year, Redwood Dance ties in music, dance, microphones, lights into one exciting dance, and a live podcast, “On Air.”
Bardonnexx said, “On Air is going to be a live podcast, we’re going to have a couple kids host the whole show and will be broken up into segments.”
The dance will showcase episodes, tying into the podcast theme. Each episode will present a new theme, introduced by Drama students, maintaining a familiar format. Dances, music, and outfits will all match to the themes.
There will be interviews included in each episode, supported by questions that connect with the theme, allowing a smooth transition into the dances.
Lapp said, “In each episode we will feature different dances, it’s a broad enough theme that we can fit a multiple of genres. “
The Dance show will be open up to the community for 3 days, on April 30th, May 1st and 2nd : advance dance, Dance Force, international, hip-pop, intermediate, and intro to dance will be involved in the dance show.
Advance dance will be introducing four dancing styles, hip-pop, lyrical, jazz, and musical theater, dance force will be doing lyrical, hip-pop, jazz, possibly tap, international will be doing Latin, hip-pop will be doing a diverse amount of hip-pop dances, and intermediate and intro to dance will be performing jazz and maybe infused with either ballet, lyrical, or hip-pop.
Lapp said, “…we didn’t want anything to specific cause then it’s a little bit limiting with planning choreography.”
“On Air” hopes to bring different stories told in each episode, all tying into one big show.
Ideas, choreography, songs, genres are still in the making, but in the end, Bardonnexx and Lapp both have one goal, keep the energy alive!
