For 70 years, the Cowhide was played with basic lights and a basic scoreboard, but this year things are different.

Greyson Galley, ASB ’30, said, “I feel like it will help entertain people during timeouts or when they play videos and pictures to give them something to look at,” then followed up with, “With ASB, I feel like it will help us with getting the student section up and going and help our Rangers to a victory.”

Here is a football player, Adrian Legarda, ’28, who said, “We’ve never really had cool lights here at the bowl, so I’m excited to see what happens during the game.”

These lights and the jumbotron will definitely play a huge part in getting the Rangers crowd hyped.

Isaias Vicuna, ’29, said, “It’s really cool to see the lights flash and the scoreboard flash during the games, and it makes the games more fun.”

Vicuna also said, “I wanna see the live reactions of the players on Cowhide to see how they react mid-game.”

The Rangers were worrying about not having a home field for the 2026 season because they almost took all year.

The Rangers will have big asks and expectations to win Cowhide in fashion this year, and Friday night, we’ll see the lights and jumbotron in action for the first time at Cowhide.
