Captain of the Winter Percussion Kayla Seitz ‘22 says, “It is really awesome to have all of our hard work amount to a win. We put in so many hours throughout the season . . . It makes all the blood sweat and tears feel worth it!”

Seitz also adds this whole season was a very emotional ride having in mind this would be her last time performing in a show like this one with all her friends before a competition.

“After the run through, everyone cheered for the Seniors and gave us all hugs, it was really nice to feel appreciated for all the work I’ve put in over the past four years”. Seitz says

Seitz ‘22 adds that after winning 1st the Winter precision ll received medals and got to hang a banner in the band room “ It was really exciting on the bus ride home, we had people playing ‘We are the Champion’ by Queen, and were just having fun”.

“Instead of really doing anything celebratory, we always go and start our next project. We like working towards the future” Seitz says.

In all their four years at Redwood Seitz ‘22 says it’s been the first time Redwood has taken the Championship title “I am just super proud of every member of Winter Percussion! This is the first time since I have been at Redwood that we have taken a Championship title, and hopefully it will be the first of many wins for those who will still be here!”

Danica Palardy ‘23 who also participated in Championships says it feels really great to have first place;“there where a lot more interactions happened at practice that at competitions, going to through the pieces where some of the best parts so definitely practice”

Palardy ‘23 says “I’m really proud of my team and how much we’ve worked we would not have gotten first place have one of them not be their . . . the credit goes to all the team”.

Christopher DeBrie ‘23 adds “The whole group has been working really hard this season and to be able to see our success it’s a really great honor”.

DeBrie says”Being able to hang out with my friends in the drum line is amazing being surrounded by people who are also interested in the same things is amazing. I encourage anyone who wants to be Winter Percussion to join  because it really is a great experience”.
