We all are waiting for Winter Break, and it is coming up faster than we expect as it’ll be time for the break at the end of the week. What are peoples plans over the break?

Kaelin O’Grady, ‘27, says, “I’m gonna hang out with my friends and hang out with family.”

Jordan Crisanto, ‘26, says, “Just gonna take time just to like, just get relaxed from school work for a little while.”

It’s a no-brainer, yet taking time to rest is an important part of the break.

Mr. Marty Silvas, a staff member here at Redwood, says, “Sleep in a lot. Cook a lot of food, eat a lot of food, and hang out with family.”

Simple plans make for great plans, and oftentimes relaxing, though sometimes plans can become more than just hanging out.

Vanessa Robles, ‘26, says, “ I’m gonna go to Disneyland with my family.”

Sometimes plans come pre-made in the form of a yearly tradition, these same students had differing responses of either having something or not.

Crisanto says that his family goes over to his house for Christmas Eve.

Christmas time is a common theme as it is very prevalent.

Silvas says, “I have some traditional meals that I cook for Christmas, and that’s what I’ll be cooking.”

M. Acevedo says, “Christmas, New Year’s, and Dia de los Reyes, which is basically like a big cake.”
