Over the Winter break, the entertainment industry continued to buzz with new events. On January 6th, 2019, the Golden Globes awards show was a huge hit and had many viewers. The annual awards ceremony honors the celebrities in the film and television industry. This years show was the 76th Golden Globes Awards. It is generally the third most-watched awards ceremony each year, telecasting in 167 countries around the world.
The big winner of the night was Bohemian Rhapsody that won for the best drama film of 2018. Rami Malek also won for his role of Freddie Mercury in the movie. Other winners that garnered a lot of attention included Glenn Close for best actress for her role in the drama film The Wife, and Lady Gaga for her portrayal in A Star Is Born. Gaga and her team also received the award for best original song for “Shallow“.
In the television shows category, “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” won best television limited series. Darren Criss also won best performance by an actor. “The Americans” won for best television comedy. The best animated picture animated was “Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse”. With many nominations, only few were lucky to go home with a prize. The Golden Globes awards show an event that has been known for many decades and is only one of many who recognize celebrities of T.V shows and films.
