Ever since school has started students have had their classes either in the morning or the afternoon. Some students do not mind online school while others have been having a really hard time with it.

Kylie Audra, ‘23 says she feels great about online school and how most things are now easy for her. “Some things that are easy for me are talking to the teachers because they are very welcoming and always there to help.” Katherine Tejada, ‘21 explains how she is great at time management which makes online school pretty easy for her aswell. With online schools having its benefits, there are also challenges that students are also facing.

Jadyn Garcia, ‘22 says, “it’s harder to grasp the subject when you’re alone, and asking for help is harder too because the teacher is not physically there to show you.” With classes being shorter now, teachers normally have to teach a little faster and not have time to go over the lesson if the student is having trouble. Tejada says the zooms are the most challenging. “Some days zoom wants to work and on the worst days possible zoom likes to give up on me.” Students have complained where zoom freezes them and then when they unfreeze, they miss half of the class.

Even with all the challenges online school has to offer, some students do like online school. “I would rather have school online because this way I get to focus more on my grades without any distractions, says Audra. With online school, many students have been more productive than usual. With some students loving online school, most students do not really like it. Garcia says how she would rather be in school than having it all online. “I like being hands-on and physically being there. I can grasp concepts better and when it’s in person, I find it easier to ask the teacher for help and always used to rely on my peers to help me as well.”

Lots of students really feel like being in school is better because you get more time for each class and it is really easy to ask questions and understand the subject. It is also a place where you can connect with your friends and teachers.
