At Redwood, there are a variety of different Art electives. One of the Drama electives is known as Stagecraft, taught by Mrs. Galvan.
Galvan describes this class as “The study of all things technical theater”.
Galvan adds that this class helps with “learning how to problem solve… learning how to use power tools.”
“Students are graded on attendance and participation” says Galvan.
Galvan says that the best part about this elective, for students, is “seeing what you build be lit up on stage and create something that enhances the actors performances.” Galvan also says that this class is “making the magic of live theater.”
Stagecraft is currently working on helping prepare for Redwood’s Spring Musical, “Bye Bye Birdie”.
Kyndall Correia, ‘24, says the best part about this class is “hanging out and interacting with different people and developing skills.”
Correia joined Stagecraft with a friend and says “we love this class so much.”
Correia also adds that “I would definitely recommend this to other people.”
