When quarantine hit, most people stayed in their pajamas. As days grew longer of staying in the house, others got creative and decided to spice up their looks.
I asked a few of my close friends, whom I have seen develop their inner fashionista during this quarantine.
Katherine Hornburg, ’22 is a reliable source when it comes to fashion. Hornburg’s Instagram is filled with fashion inspiration of the newest fashion trends. When it comes to picking out a perfect outfit for any occasion, Hornburg is the girl you go to!
Interview with Katherine Hornburg, ’22:
Q: What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
A: “Honestly, I have a few that I have been in love with. I like how the early 2000’s fashion is making a comeback, it’s always been my favorite! For the fall/winter season right now, I love the leather jackets/blazers. I feel like it makes an outfit stylish even if it’s basic.“
Q: What is an item you find essential to enquire with your outfit?
A: “I really feel like jewelry and purses are so essential, they just make an outfit complete!”
Q: How has Covid affected your style?
A: “Covid has made me really think about my style. Before, I felt I wanted to buy clothes so I could match every other girl in school. Now, I have realized I shouldn’t care and I should wear clothes that I want to and make me feel me! My style has definitely upgraded!”
Q: How do you prefer to accessorize?
A: “I definitely think shoes, jewelry, purses, and how you style your hair are key factors in making your style pop.”
Q: Who is your fashion inspiration at the moment?
A: “My fashion inspiration at the moment would have to be Suede Brooks and Courtney Mawhorr.”
Hailey Burrow, ’22 has simple convenient outfits and throws them together so nicely. When in need of a quick simple look, Burrow has got you covered. Burrow can turn a comfy sweatshirt into a super cute outfit with her favorite accessories.

A: “My favorite fashion trend right now would probably be bringing back many 2000’s styles.“

A: “An item I find essential is a shoulder bag.“
Q: How has Covid affected your style?
A: “Covid has changed my style because I’m more comfortable wearing what I want.“
Q: How do you prefer to accessorize?
A: “Simple gold jewelry and a shoulder bag.“
Q: Who is your fashion inspiration at the moment?
A: “At the moment, my fashion inspiration is any band members from ‘The Runaways.‘”
Hornburg and Burrow walk around town in their total early 2000’s fashionable shoulder bags and sunglasses. They have similar fashion taste with their own little twists to them.
