On my trip to Tulum, Mexico, I came across some of the most attractive sites in North America and in this story I explain which are the best places to visit, as a tourist.

Tulum is one of the most beautiful parts of Mexico. It’s filled with history, the bluest beaches, cenotes (sinkholes), and much more. I was able to experience many of these wonders when I went and was amazed by each and every one of them. I’m going to share with you the places I think anybody going to Tulum, or planning a trip, should definitely visit.

1. Parque Del Jaugar (Mayan Ruins)

Parque Del Jaugar is known for many things, one of them being its Mayan Ruins. As you walk in the parque, there’s lots of music being played, vendors, and traditions being done. The more you walk, the more you see the ruins. The parque did a good job preserving the ruins and make sure they continue to be preserved by keeping them enclosed with the use of fences.

Multiple temples were scattered around, each made in there own unique ways. You can see straw roofs, brick walls, and sculptures all around. Each place had a sign, describing what they were used for back in the day. It was really cool seeing the history that lied behind each building and being able to see them up close which is why the Mayan ruins should be one of the top places to consider seeing, especially if you like history.

2. El Gran Cenote

A cenote is one of the places a tourist should make their duty to visit. A cenote is a pit of water which results when the falling of a limestone bedrock exposes the water beneath. Tulum has many and they’re mainly known for them and their beauty, but El Gran Cenote is the one I went to. They’re all beautiful so any cenote one goes to, they’ll still be happy with what they came for.

Before entering, they make you shower yourself so that the water is protected from any sort of bacteria and keep the quality of the water. The cenote is not a clean pool, so yes there are tiny fish in them. It’s scary at first if you don’t like tiny animals but they do no harm. The cenote I went to also had turtles so it was exciting to see them. Cenotes are a sight to see and experience, so it should be a place one visits.

3. Playa Paraiso

Tulum has multiple beaches, but each are different. The ones with more rocks and less blue water are for the public. Although, the nicest beaches are the ones you would typically pay a fee to enter and relax in, such as Playa Paraiso. Playa Parasio was more on the pricey side, but perfect in every way. The water was as blue as it can be, the sand was white and soft, the food was amazing, and it was clean all around.

When you get in the water, yes it is cold at first but you warm up quickly especially with the sun beaming on you. The food there is also great and their specialty is seafood. It’s the perfect place to be if you want to relax and enjoy amazing food and ice cold drinks, both perfect for the hot days.

4. Playa Pescadores

Playa Pescadores is one other great beach to visit. It’s not as good as Playa Paraiso, but it is super close. The water’s just as blue and unpolluted, sand is soft, and the food is just as great. In Tulum, the food is almost amazing everywhere but it also depends on your preferences. It’s all authentic and made at the best quality, so you’re eating what you pay for. This beach does have a cost to get in, but it’s worth going into and relaxing in.

Each of these places are amazing and should be seen by each and every single person who travels to Tulum, or if anything, these places will make you want to go to Tulum!
