Along with Ochoa’s new PR in the 100, she broke the Redwood girls 100 meter record.

Ochoa was asked if she thought she would run as well as she did at the Exeter meet and shared, “I didn’t think so because I was nervous.”

On breaking her personal record and Redwood girls’ 100 meter record, Ochoa says, “I was kind of surprised because that was my goal for the season just to break the [school] record.”

When sharing about breaking the school record Ochoa was proud to say, “I did it my first meet back, so I was really proud of myself and I think I showed myself anything’s really possible.”

Ochoa shared her thoughts about going into the rest of the season. “I feel pretty confident and I hope that I keep getting better,” says Ochoa.

Duncan was asked how she feels going into future meets. “I think I’ll perform better and faster but I need to do that by working hard in practice,” says Duncan.

For only competing in the 800 meter race at the past meet, for future meets, Duncan added, “I also plan on running the 400 [meter] and the 1600 [meter], probably.”

When asked how preparation for future meets will look, Duncan said, “I’m just gonna work harder at practice, put [in] 110%, and make sure to keep a good and healthy diet.”
