Senior graduates look back on their time in high school and talk back to their freshman selves.

Hickey,
Freshman Year

Ethan Hickey ’23 would like to say to his freshman self, “Get more involved and have more time, especially with the theater department like musicals.”

Hickey wishes he “would have taken a drama class because Galvan is a very funny and dedicated teacher to her classes.”

Hickey, Senior Year

One funny memory Hickey would like to share with his freshman self is, “The time we went to Grad Nite, and I spent a good hour looking for a stuffed Stitch plush to buy because the first one I purchased that same night ended up getting stolen.”

Looking back on Hickey’s time, his freshman self would say to him now, “I have gotten more out of my shell. I used to be very shy and reluctant to try new things, but now I do all that I can.”

Thao, Freshman Year

Hickey would like to add, “The choir department is very fun, and the director makes sure everyone has a great time each year.”

Aaliyah Thao ’23, says her freshman self would say, “Have fun, make more friends, and do more activities.”

Thao, Senior Year

Thao also wishes she had taken more art classes in high school.

Thao’s favorite memory of her senior year would be prom. “I got to see all my friends dressed up and take photos, and it was such a special memory to have,” she says.

Waldo Perez ’23, says, “I would tell my freshman self not to slack up in math because it cost me a lot.”

Perez,
Freshman Year

A funny memory Perez would like to share is the time someone set off a fart bomb in his group. It stuck with everyone, and they all stank. “It was pretty memorable because I went home smelling,” says Perez.

Perez, Senior Year

A class Perez wishes he had taken was AG Mechanics. Perez says, “I slacked up in math, and I couldn’t take it my junior year because I had to take Math 2 again, so I wasn’t able to take the rest of AG Mechanics.”

“What my freshman self would say to me right now is we did a lot better than I thought we were going to, and we’re actually graduating, so big ups to me,” says Perez.
