Every homecoming has a soundtrack. From upbeat dance hits to slow songs, students have certain songs that remind them of homecoming. Music turns a moment into a memory, and while students might not remember what they wore or the decorations, they will remember the music and the memories it brought them.

For many students, music is a very important part of homecoming. Music brings people together on the dance floor, making memories and having a good time while hanging out with friends.
Everyone has a different song that reminds them of homecoming and the memories they made. Whether it is a popular song everyone knows or a song that simply reminds them of the time, each song can become a part of the night.
Haley Tierce ’27 said, “Oh yeah by Steve Lacy because it was in the new Spider-Man movie. The whole song is really cool.”
The homecoming theme is Marvel, so this song is very fitting. This song really captures the essence of homecoming and the theme this year.
For some students, certain songs can remind them of how they feel, bring out their emotions, or remind them of who they were with.
Joseph Landin ’27 said, “Ribs by Lorde really feels like homecoming next week because it reminds me of my senior year and how we are all growing up and it’s our last homecoming.”
This is the last homecoming for seniors. It can be a very emotional time, but also a very exciting time. While it can be scary growing up, it’s also exciting to get your foot in the door and see what the future holds.
Sydney Brown ’28 said, “Vienna by Billy Joel because it reminds me of how the times passing, and I think it’s because I’m already a junior and I remember my freshman year at homecoming. My favorite part of the song is when he says, “slow down you’re doing just fine” because it’s like you should take your time doing stuff and do it your way.”
From the first moment you enter high school, you already feel like you’re growing up. Whether this is your first homecoming or your last, slow down and enjoy every moment. The soundtrack of homecoming can stay with students long after the last song ends.
