The Redwood varsity tackle football team continues its dominant stretch as last week they took on the Lemoore Tigers.

The three-game road trip continues as last week Redwood headed to Tiger Stadium to take on the 1-2 Lemoore Tigers last Friday, September 11, at 7:30 PST.

The Rangers are coming off of another dominant performance, four straight quarters of absolute dominance, ending with a 48-0 complete shutout win over the Miners and improving their record to 3-0.

Lemoore, on the other hand, was coming off a loss against Tulare Union. They held the lead early, but let it slip away, ultimately losing the game 35-21.

Last week only got harder as the visiting Redwood Rangers have been on fire, a team that averages 33.3 points per game. A high-scoring offense and a defense that has only allowed two touchdowns in this three-game stand.

Chase Luna, ‘28, says, “I plan to carry the high, talk to my o-line, and just stay focused on the game and study film”

Luna is coming off of an amazing performance: 57 yards on the ground, and to add to that, he scored two touchdowns to help secure the win for Redwood.

Jarius Brooks, ‘28, says, “Same speed, same everything. We had a good week at practice and [we were] very disciplined, and [it] doesn’t matter who we play, we are going to give the same energy every week.”

This team has grown through three games, and the energy is insane. The way these boys pick each other up every game and go out there and give it their all.

Luna, ‘28, says, “I would say just controlling the clock. I trust my offensive coordinator, Coach Jackson, to control the clock.”

Lemoore is a team that can contend; they can keep the game close, so for Redwood to get off to an early start and, throughout the game, control the clock will help Redwood stay ahead and take the win.

Brooks says, “We are just going to go to the game and prepare how we do every week. Once the clock hits 7:30, it’s time to play, and we’re going to show them what we do”
