There are three special love birds here on the Redwood High School campus, and they get to share their love story!

Redwood High School is a big school. There are a lot of married teachers who have a love story of their own, but three couples in fact that have caught Rangers’ attention. Mr. and Mrs. Vieira, Mr. and Mrs. Feehan, and Mr. and Mrs. Blair are teachers at Redwood and get to work beside their partners in crime.
From History to English, Mr. and Mrs. Vieira’s love story started during the lovely spring weather in 2014. Mrs. Vieira was there to be welcomed by the loving staff of Redwood, and when Mr. and Mrs. Vieira saw each other for the first time, it was love at first sight!
Mr. Vieira says, “The first time we met was in the Spring of 2015. Mrs. Vieira (then Ms. Saputo) was visiting the school from Pennsylvania. She had just been hired and was getting to know some of the staff. It was at a staff bbq in the courtyard between the library and LJ Williams theatre. It was just a quick ‘hello nice to meet you’ but I remember thinking she was really pretty!”
Mrs. Vieira says, “Mr. Vieira got this pretty much right except that it was Spring of 2014, not 15!… I do remember that meeting during the Spring staff BBQ in May. I actually think it was Mr. Miller who introduced us or called Mr. Vieira over to introduce him to me. During my first staff meeting on the first day of school, I had lived here all about a week, I remember noticing Mr. Vieira again, and checking his ring finger to see if he was married and was happy to find out a little later that he wasn’t!”
Mrs. Vieira made a big change in her life, moving all the way from Pennsylvania to sunny California. She says, “It’s crazy that I moved 3,000 miles away from home and met the person I would eventually marry pretty much immediately, but I did. And I’m forever grateful I took the leap and signed a contract with Redwood in 2014 because it brought me the love of my life.”
“We’re just two people that care very deeply about each other. She’s my best friend and we champion each other in everything we do. I’m thankful every day that she took the job to move out here to California, it really saved my life. I’m also thankful for Redwood; without this amazing school we never would have met, and our love story wouldn’t be what it is.” Says Mr. Vieira.
When married and have kids, sometimes it’s hard to remind the ones you love your favorite thing about one another. It could be anything! Anything to say I love you, and I appreciate you could mean the world to that person.
“There’s probably too many to list. I love how genuine she is, Mrs. Vieira is unapologetically herself and what you see is what you get. I love how passionate she is about things, and not just things like family, she’s so passionate about her students and puts so much effort into making sure they’re getting what they need in the classroom. I love how goofy she is, Mrs. Vieira can be pretty clumsy at times and is a wrecking ball of sorts, but I honestly love that about her.” Says, Mr. Vieira.
Mrs. Vieira says, “It’s unique for sure. I’ll shorten it down to timing is everything. It took Mr. Vieira and I a while to arrive at our forever, but when I first met him I knew that he was the person I wanted to spend my life with, even if it took us a few years to get there, which it did. He’s the best part of my day every day, and there’s no way I’d rather spend my time with him and our kids. We are true partners in everything we do, and I couldn’t live life without him!”
Now, from English to Yearbook, Mr. and Mrs. Feehan have a unique love story! People always talk about high school sweethearts, but what about College Sweethearts? Mr. and Mrs. Feehan had started their love story in 2005, both in their freshman year at college!
Mr. and Mrs. Feehan both say, “We started dating in March of 2005, late in our freshman year of college, when we were both still really quite young and figuring ourselves out, so as we figured out life, we did so together. We got to grow together in a lot of our early life experiences.”
Mr. Feehan says, “Being young, I said I love you rather early, but she made me wait a while before I heard it back. She made me be more patient in life! At the end of junior year, we got ready to both leave for the summer for separate study abroad programs, and as she drove away from me in SLO, I realized that I never wanted her to leave me ‘for good’ again, so I called her parents and went and bought a ring. We got engaged at the end of that summer in Ireland (2007), married a year later (2008), and the rest is history!”
Mrs. Feehan says, “My favorite thing about Mr. Feehan is the way he loves and takes care of his family. I also love that he’s always up for an adventure, whether it be a day trip to the mountains or a cross-country road trip.”
Moving onto the two math love birds that are located on the Vista campus of Redwood, Mr. and Mrs. Blair have a very cute love story that would make anyone wish that was their story.
Mrs. Blair says, “Mr. Blair and I met our freshman year of high school. A friend of mine from school went to the same youth group as Mr. Blair…Well, I thought he was kinda cute so I acted scared near him so he would ‘protect’ me!”
Mrs. Blair says, “Later he told me that he left a seat open by him near the campfire, hoping I would sit by him, and I did! After that night, we didn’t see each other again until our senior year of high school. We both happened to be taking the ACT test on a Saturday at Golden West High School. I didn’t know anyone, so I was sitting by myself during a break in the test. He noticed me and remembered me from freshmen year and came to talk to me. I did not remember him!”
Mr. Blair says, “I remember being done with the test, I was done before her, and I remember walking super slow to my car hoping that she would come out of her classroom because we were testing in different classes, but she didn’t.”
Mr. Blair says, “A couple of months go by and I saw her pull up at the Golden West swimming pool and I was playing baseball at Golden West, and when I saw her I knew that I wasn’t going to let her slip through my fingers this time, so I faked an injury, and the training room was right next to the swimming pool…one day after a game, I saw her car out in the parking lot and I went to dinner with my teammates at In&Out, and I was writing many different letters that I was going to leave on her car, and basically I placed one on her windshield and that night she called me.”
“This time I remembered him. The next day, he saw me there again and left a note on my car asking me to call him. Well, I called him, and he asked me on a date. The rest is history!” Says, Mrs. Blair.
