I asked center fielder Jaxson Griffiths, ’25, how he feels about this season being his final season. “I’m pretty sad about how it’s my last time playing with most of these guys, but I’m also excited because now I have to make the most of it,” says Griffiths.

I then proceeded to ask him what his goals were for this season. “I have a few goals. [Goal number] one is to be undefeated in league. [Goal number] two is to win Valley. My last goal is to get first team EYL,” says Griffiths.

On the team’s chemistry this year, Griffiths says, “I feel really good about our team chemistry since most of us have been playing together our whole lives. I don’t think there’s any outcast who can ruin the team chemistry as well.”

On his expectations for the team as a whole this season, Griffiths says, “I expect everyone to stick to the program and be very selfless. I want us to win league and go into playoffs with the mindset of winning valley.”

Pitcher and Infielder Erik Rico, ’25, shared how he felt coming into this season.

“We are feeling good. I’m feeling like we have a good team we have a good group of guys and we are ready to go so we’re feeling good.”

Rico shared his goals and expectations this season for himself and the team.

“Biggest goal is we’ve obviously got to win EYL. That’s not even a goal at this point, it should happen. Then I think to win in the playoffs and if that means getting to valley and winning valley, that’s the biggest goal. Then personally I think just do as good as I can for the team and for the guys.”

Rico shares his opinion on how the teams chemistry has been.

“I think the team chemistry’s been good. We’ve all been doing well. I think it’s a good group of guys and they have known each other for a while, so I think that’s the biggest thing is all the guys knowing each other for a while and getting along well.”

Rico shared how it feels for this season to be his last.

“It feels a little bit weird, like being the senior [and] being the guy that the guys look up to. It’s exciting, it’s fun. It will be a good season, and I’m excited for it.”

Catcher and Outfielder Hunter Kittinger, ’25, shared how he is feeling coming into this season.

“Pretty good, I feel like the team is really good. I feel like everyone has been doing a lot so everybody’s pretty ready for the season I’d say.”

Kittenger shares his goal for this season and gives his thoughts on the teams chemistry.

“[My goal for the season] is to win Valley. It’s pretty good a lot of the guys are returners, and we’ve all been working out together in the gym doing everything together, so I’ll say it’s pretty good.”

“Win a valley championship. Anything other than that I’d say isn’t the goal,” says Kittenger on his expectations for the season.

Kittinger shared how he feels about this season being his last. “Kind of sad, but if there’s anybody I’d want to do it with it would be these guys. So I’m excited to get after it.”
