The VUSD winter formal took place on Saturday, December 7th. Amongst the cold winter weather, students still showed up in their best formal attire. Here is what students had to say about the dance.
Johnny Chavez, ‘25, says, “I really liked the atmosphere, I thought it was amazing and the theme was well thought out because everyone dressed for the occasion. I thought the bubbles walking in was a nice touch.”
Yaritza Bejar, ‘25, explains, “if I could change anything it would be the weather, it was super cold.”
Post-formal, all attendees were advised to get home safely by security due to the dense fog which created a driving hazard.
Sienna Luna, ‘26, says, “The dance was really fun. Getting to spend time with my friends from other schools that I don’t get to see often was super nice.”
“Something I would change would be some of the music, a lot of people didn’t know the music being played so they just stood around on the dance floor,” says Luna.
Amirah Najem, ‘25, said, “I wish it was a bit more crowded, it seemed like there weren’t a lot of people on the dance floor and it’s more exciting the more people there are.”
Najem continued, “However, school dances are always fun. People our age don’t often have an excuse to really dress up. Picking a look was the most fun part for me.”
