The offense was exceptional, as Redwood focused more on the running game, as they had five different players score a touchdown from the likes of Jimmie Burk, ’26.
Burk had seven carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns which put him over twenty touchdowns, and Adrian Melgar, ’27, who had five carries for 46 yards and a touchdown.
Luke Sanchez, ’26, went 4-7 for 100 yards, a touchdown and an interception rounding up to a 101.8 overall passer rating.
The receiving was led by Jarius Brooks, who had only one catch, though it was effective as he took it fifty one yards to the house for a touchdown.
The special teams also deserves a shout out, as Zephaniah Sesay, ’26, blocked a punt in the 1st quarter, which would end up turning into a safety and would extend Redwood’s lead to 16-0.
The defense played well, as they had 44 total tackles as a unit, with six of those tackles being for loss of yardage.
The tackling was led by linebackers Enrique Segura, ’26, and Brody Preisendorf, ’26, as they both had seven total tackles.
The Rangers had two total sacks, Landon Guenter, ’27, and Haden Mancour, ’27, combined for one sack, while Jacob Carvalho had one himself.
The Rangers ended the season 8-2, and as East Yosemite League champions, they will have their first playoff game on November 14th.
And remember, wherever you go, whatever you do, always be TRUE to the blue!
