“I was very excited [when I won],” Seals says. “I ran for ASB President in eighth grade, and I didn’t win that, so it was a nice refresh because I won this time.”

Seals wants the national anthem played at the freshman home football games.

She says, “I went to the game on Thursday [August 31], and I realized that they don’t even do the pledge of allegiance or the national anthem. [With football] being an American sport, I really want to have [those included].”

Seals wants to have every freshman involved in Redwood activities. “We have so many opportunities for everyone,” she says. “Redwood is a very fun school, so I want every freshman involved.”

Miller was elected Vice President. She says, “I can’t wait to be Freshman Vice President and help out the freshman class.”

Like Seals, Miller wanted the national anthem played at freshman football games.

“We thought it wasn’t right,” she says. “We talked to Mr. Wright, [the Athletic Director], and yesterday [Thursday, September 7], we got the national anthem played at the freshman game.”

Miller wants her classmates to “have a really good freshman year.” She says, “I want to make sure they sort of know what’s going on and to be the best freshman class they can be.”

Miller speaks of her excitement for this year. “There’s a lot of ideas I have for freshman year that I really hope I get to make happen,” she says.
