A Nintendo switch crossover game from 2018 is the fifth game from the Super Smash Bros series. In Redwood High school there are students that are going to play this game on a tournament, competing against each other on Friday, December 6. The winners received a Logitech gaming headset and a $25 gift card for Nintendo.
David Robles, ’21, plays Snake from Metal Gear Solid as his main, and his favorite stage is Final Destination. He says “I had a fun experience in this club.” His favorite professional player is Zero, someone he looks up to.
Second participant of the tournament was Spencer Byrd, ’23. He plays Dr. Mario as his main and his favorite stage is Fountain of Dreams from Kirby. “I think what I was expecting from this tournament was to have some fun, maybe pass through a few rounds.” He said, as he lost in his second round. His favorite professional player is MkLeo, and he hopes to get to his level.
Cason Carpenter ’21 says he plays as Roy from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, and his favorite stage is The King of Fighters arena. “All I was expecting to get from this tournament was simply the experience.” He said. His favorite professional player is an American who’s gamer tag is Mang0.
The tournament was a nice place for these guys to hang out and compete against each other with what they love doing. The Mock Trial president was also there, offering snacks for $1 each to support their club and the Esports club, all contributing for everyone.
