February is coming up and love is in the air. There are many great romance movies to watch such as, You’ve Got Mail, The Notebook, Gone With the Wind, and of course, Sleepless in Seattle.
Sleepless in Seattle is a great movie to watch with your loved ones. It is lighthearted and portrays the idea of finding the right partner for you, and how people heal from losing a loved one and moving on to find love again.
The story is about the main character, Samuel Baldwin (Tom Hanks), dealing with the death of his wife and moving to Seattle a little bit after. Samuel’s son, Jonah, calls in to a talk radio program to find a new wife for his dad. Eventually, Sam talks about his feelings on the radio station. Annie Reed, a reporter in Baltimore, hears Sam speak and falls for him, even though she is engaged.
Unsure of the future, she writes Sam a letter to meet him on top of the Empire State Building on Valentines Day. Jonah responds to Annie without Samuel knowing while he is dating or hanging out with another girl. Jonah leaves by himself to New York to find Annie because he really likes her compared to the other girl his father was dating.
Sooner or later, Samuel hunts down and finds his son in New York on top of the Empire State Building. Annie has second thoughts about her marriage while she stares at the Empire State Building while on a date with her engaged husband. She humbly ends her marriage and rushes to the Empire State Building.
She eventually finds Samuel and Jonah, and immediately falls in love with Samuel. Jonah has a beaming smile at the end of the movie because he is so happy that his father is dating someone that they both like and most importantly, his father is happy again.
Love tells the rest of the story.
I highly recommend to watch this movie because it has sweet and touching themes of love and how crazy and unexpected adventures can sometimes be involved when finding the right person for you.
This is a sneak peek into Sleepless in Seattle and I hope you have the time to watch this movie with your loved ones in the month of February.
