Digging into her soccer career, even though Harlyn is only a sophomore, she says, “I have been playing soccer since I was about 5 years old.” Kausen ’27

Being able to play field side with her sister, she says, “It’s good because they have a bond.”

Harlyn’s goal for the season is to “play good and improve.”

Evelyn says, “My position is center back.”

Evelyn also states, “I’ve been playing probably since I was like five or six.”

Sister relationships on and off the field can be a lot, but Evelyn says,

“I really like it because we have a lot of chemistry, so it’s easy to play with her.”

Evelyn is a freshman on the varsity. She shares, “I am really excited to be playing varsity as a freshman, and I am excited to play [for] four years.”

After a few games, Evelyn expresses her thoughts on the season and how it feels to be part of the varsity level. “It’s going pretty well, I think we have been doing really good in all of our games,” says Evelyn.

Having a sister on the team could add lots of encouragement to their playing. Evelyn adds what her goals are for soccer.  “To be able to get a lot of playing time and to be able to communicate well with my teammates,” says Evelyn.

Moving onto the Bruce sisters, Kwyn and Jaelyn Bruce are a Freshman & Junior duo.

#4 Jaelyn Bruce, ‘28, plays forward for the Varsity Girls Soccer team.

Like some sports you start in middle school or elementary, Jaeyln shares, “I’ve been playing ever since I was four.”

Playing with her older sister, Kwyn, Jaelyn shares her feelings about playing on the field with her sister: “It’s fun, it’s nice to connect with her, and since we know each other, it makes it easier to play,” says Jaelyn.

#3 Kwyn Bruce, ‘26, is the older sister of Jaelyn.

“I play midfield,” says Kwyn.

Like her sister Jaelyn, she shares, “I have been playing since I was like four.”

Kwyn has one more year with her sister before she graduates next year. She shares her bond with her sister on the field, “It’s really fun because we connect really well, and it’s fun to be able to play together.”

A goal Bruce has was “to win EYL because we are a good team this year, so I think we had the strength and everything to win,” says Kwyn.
