On Monday, August 28, 2023, Redwood High School began its Freshman class elections.

The elected candidates will represent their class in Redwood’s Associated Student Body [ASB].

The following students are running for Freshman Class President.

Brandon Ellis

Brandon Ellis, ’27, is a member of Redwood ASB and Rally Club. He plans on being involved in Redwood Athletics on the track team and is considering wrestling.

This is Ellis’ first year doing ASB, but he has leadership experience being a Where Everybody Belongs [WEB] leader.

WEB is a program that helps students transition into middle school, similar to how Link Crew does at the high school level.

Ellis wants his classmates to know that he strives to solve problems as soon as they come up.

He says, “If you have a problem, solve it as soon as you know what it is. Do things whenever you know they’re a problem, don’t push them off.”

“If I’m President, I want to get things done quickly so that we don’t push it off to another day.”

Xavier Legaspi

Xavier Legaspi, ’27, is currently a member of ASB.

Legaspi has experience in being a leader. He was in leadership for all of his time in middle school and has also led in community service.

When asked about his reason for running, he said, “I want my fellow freshmen to have a great freshman year.”

Adrian Lopez-Guzman

Adrian Lopez-Guzman, ’27, is involved in Redwood Water Polo. He is a member of ASB as well.

Before high school, Lopez-Guzman was a member of ASB in eighth grade.

Lopez-Guzman is running for Freshman Class President because he says, “[He] can be a voice for everyone and make a difference for the better.”

“I plan to represent my freshmen as seen and not just thrown to the side,” Lopez-Guzman says.

Alexis Seals

Alexis Seals, ’27, has prior leadership experience from middle school. She participated in ASB and managed two sports teams. She says, “[Leadership] was a good experience for me.”

Seals wants her classmates to know that she cherishes her time at school.

“I love being at school,” she says. “I want everyone’s school experience just as fun as mine.”

Seals’s main goal is to put on special events, such as rallies and dances, to get her classmates involved at school.
