Varsity Boys Soccer is playing their first game of the season this Friday against Lindsay High School at Redwood in the Mineral King Bowl at 6pm.

Varsity Soccer has done nothing but practice ever since tryouts, with morning and after school practices and endless conditioning.

Jesse Zetino ’24 is playing his first varsity game, unlike Ambrose Bueno ’23 who is playing his last first varsity game.

Former JV captain, Zetino says, “I believe that the hard work and dedication that our team has put into practice has definitely prepared us for Friday’s game.”

After winning the WYL title and the endless hard work put into practices, Zetino is hopeful that he gets a starting position at the game Friday and maintains it for the rest of the season.

Team training is a big part of their practice, Zetino says, “I am always looking to grow as a soccer player, even when I am not with my team.”

This season is Bueno’s second year on varsity. Bueno says, “I have faith in both myself and the team so I am excited that the season finally starts this week.”
