On May 10th, Redwood hosted a pre-recorded virtual Scholarship Night for the seniors in the class of 2021. 

In the video, Redwood principal Mr. Shin says, “Although we would have preferred to hold this ceremony in person, we are excited to celebrate well-deserving Redwood students with scholarships.”

He adds that this year, they were able to hand out over $220,000 worth of scholarships to 100 worthy senior students.

Aya Aziz received 4 scholarships totaling up to $7,000.

She received a $3,500 scholarship from the Leon & Ollie Craig Foundation, a $2,000 scholarship for being an RHS CSF- Seymour Finalist, she received a $1,000 scholarship from Ruiz Foods, and a $500 scholarship from Oak Grove PTSA. 

Crystal Vasquez-Jauregui earned $7,500 worth of scholarships. 

She received a $1,500 scholarship from the Tri Counties Bank, a Changing Lives Memorial Scholarship for $1,000, a $1,000 scholarship from Ruiz Foods, a $1,000 scholarship from TCLMAW, the Visalia Host Lions Scholarship gave her $1,000, a $500 scholarship from Sequoia Visalia Kiwanis, the Proteus, Inc. Mike McCann Award which was worth $500, $300 from the Visalia Charter Oak Lions Club, and she received the Visalia Education Foundation Community Scholarship which was $250. and the Visalia Host Lions Scholarship gave her $1,000. 

Brian Altamirano earned $20,050 in scholarships by earning the Dell Scholar Scholarship for $20,000 and a scholarship from AVID for $50.

Christian Roldan also earned $23,250 worth of scholarships. He received $20,000 from the Visalia Rotary Community Foundation-Dwelle, $2,000 from Dick Watson STEM, $1,000 from Ruiz Foods, and $250 from the RHS Ablaze Club. 

The biggest scholarship earner is Jacqueline Canchola-Martinez. She earned $71,750 in just 5 scholarships.

The Edison Scholars program awarded her $40,000, she received $30,000 from the Evelyn M. Alexander Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Visalia Breakfast Lions, $500 from the Kevin Blain memorial, and $250 from the Julie Reed Memorial Scholarship by Willow Glen PTA.
